Iran’s Vice President Condoles Death of Pakistani Pilgrims in Bus Crash

IQNA – Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref offered condolences after a number of Pakistani pilgrims visiting the country died in a bust crash.

At least 28 passengers died and 23 others were injured on Tuesday after a bus carrying pilgrims overturned in Iran’s central province of Yazd. 

Speaking on phone with the governor of the province, Aref was briefed on the efforts to treat the inured and stressed serving the survivors in the best way.

He also expressed condolences to the families of the victims of the crash.

During the conversation, Governor of Yazd Mehran Fatemi described the situation around the incident and said all facilities and capacities have been mobilized to treat the injured and accommodate and serve the other passengers.

He also said necessary coordination has been made with the Interior Ministry and Foreign Ministry for taking the bodies of the victims to Pakistan.

The pilgrims were reportedly on route to the holy city of Karbala in Iraq for the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
